The Name:Reiki Kyokai Usui Shiki Ryoho reflects the spiritual connection as an association, society or Circle of Reiki practitioners who aim to follow Usui's example of spirituality, discipline and high standards.

The Logo: the shape represents the wood block seal often found in China and Japan. The rising sun represents the dawn of the 21st day of Dr Usui's meditation when he was empowered with Reiki healing. The Reiki Kanji appears both in the sky and in the sun, representing the cosmic, spiritual and universal quality of light and love. The logo incorporates both the modern and the ancient, both the Japanese and the English language. It reflects the rediscovery of Reiki and the group's connection with Dr Usui.

The group was formed by a circle of Reiki practitioners out of a need to support each other in their practice and study of Reiki and out of a desire to promote their spiritual and personal growth qualities within the system.

The group also aims to assist in the bringing together of comprehensive training standards, which would be seen by others in the health care profession as being sound, acceptable and compatible.
