The first degree or beginner's level of Reiki is a two-day seminar designed to establish a foundation in the Usui - Takata Reiki system. During the seminar, students learn how to facilitate Reiki healing for themselves and others.

Traditionally, each student is individually aligned to the Reiki energy with four separate energy attunements. These attunements effectively create a pathway through the student's energy system, permanently aligning the individual with the Reiki energy.
