'Channelers' and 10th level Reiki masters seem to be on every New Age corner! Since the 1980's so many variations of Reiki have become available from new styles to invented systems. The word "Reiki" seems to be a New Age add-on to any system, style or practice, from dolphins to druids, anything goes!
